About Us
Black Axe contracting started as all good businesses do - over a beer in the local pub. We had been assisting friends and local charities to build fences and decks. Several local plumbers, electricitions and builders mentioned they were struggling to find available digger operators to assist them with trenching, and other landscaping tasks on behalf of their clients.
Market research done - we decided to set up and advertise our skills. Since then we have have been amazed at the interest we've had. We've enjoyed the varied jobs we've done to help people achieve their dream properties, including decks, sheds, stump removal, planter boxes and site levelling.
Between us we have had many years of experience - between owning a landscaping and design company in the UK, building some of NZ's most prestigious golf courses, and winning the Civil Contractors NZ top excavator operator tournament in Wellington/Wairarapa for 2023.
We are a tight access specialist digger operator providing landscaping and civil contracting. We are Wairarapa's one stop shop for all outdoor building and excavator work based in the South Wairarapa.
We operate an Hittachi ZX17 with expandable retractable tracks. This means we are able to get into tight places, where other diggers struggle. The digger is still grunty enough to complete some of the larger earthwork projects you may have. We have equipped it with an array of innovative attachments to get even the gnarliest of jobs done.
